I finally started in on the much delayed tea cabinet. The wood is red oak and beech. I took it out to enjoy the sunshine before I ran it through my fine Italian bandsaw.
Here is the oak rough milled. The wood will sit like this for a week or so to twist and warp before final milling. I haven't cut the beech for the bottom stand yet.
You can already see the boards cupping.

You should scrap the cabinet idea and build a boat out of that.
Must be time to brew some batches if that wood needs a week or two to warp.

This is true. We'll have to get that going before I start making that gravy boat.
Gravy Boat? Thats right up my alley!
Thanks Dave! Keep the pictures coming! They definitely help since we can't stop by to see the progress. Dad and I are planning a trip up to see you two this summer. Do you know of a time that you won't be around? Love to you both! mom
moms asking when you wont be around so they can plan on stopping by to see the house when you arent there!
If thats the case, we are hoping to be hiking from mid-August to mid-September if anyone want to sublet. Great location and we got a canoe that goes with it too!
