It's a ling cod and yes you can eat them. They're better than halibut. This one was 4 feet long, we couldn't weigh it but guessed it somewhere around 45 pounds. We went out further than I've been before on the Bluebird to catch it, 40+ miles.
40+ miles! Sounds like that trip across the inlet should be happening soon!b
