Went for an overnighter in the Goat Rocks Wilderness (Wa) last weekend. Great views of Mt Adams, Rainier and steam/smoke coming off of St Helens.
We had great weather but a cold night. 
Here's Becky crossing a snow patch above a tarn. The best thing was no Extra-Tuffs required and no swarms of giant nasty mesquitos (We didn't even need a tent!)--- Alaska-shmashka!Dave

alaska-shmashka huh? i just looked up your fine city's temp my sweet brother in law. its about 45 degree's hotter where you are! Barf! the pictures are amazing. its so nice that you can do those hikes, thats gotta feel nice. -c
